DETAILED CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

  YOGA/CORE
Cindy will lead participants at any level in a class designed to strengthen the entire core (which includes not only the abdominal and oblique muscles but also the lower and middle back) and help increase overall strength and spine flexibility and help improve posture and mood. Leave this class with a strong sense of your inner powerhouse (your core) and the peace and calm that only come from the mindful practice of yoga.

STRETCH IT

This class is modeled after the Yin Yoga format. Long relaxed holds of postures designed to sink past the muscles into the deeper connective tissues. This increases flexibility and conditions the connective tissue to resist injuries. Cindy will gently guide you through a meditative, relaxed and restorative practice. Anyone can do this class- you do not have to already be flexible and/or regularly exercising. This is a great beginner class. As with all Cindy's classes pranayama is emphasized heavily and most importantly the individual is celebrated for their genuine desire to improve their health and well-being and not their abilities.

MORE CORE
The core involves the entire mid section of the body, including the abs, lower and middle back and upper pelvic and kidney region. Keeping this area strong and flexible is vitally important. Strength, power, coordination, balance and agility all comes from the core of the body. This class will begin with warm ups for the back since this is the support for the ab work. Then we will progress to abdominal and pelvic region stretches and exercises. You will work hard in this class, so be prepared for the burn. If you have now or in the past have had any type of back injury or pain please see your health care provider before beginning this class to find out what you should or should not be doing specific to your situation.

GENTLE/MATURE YOGA
This class is designed for mature adults or others with physical challenges. We will use chairs and other props to assist you as we go through a gentle yoga exercise program. It is never too late to reap the benefits of yoga. As your range of motion, circulation, mood and overall health and wellbeing increases your confidence and strength will grow. Join us today for a class that will leave you feeling renewed, rejuvenated and refreshed.

STRENGTH & TONE
We will combine the strengthening and toning of the body through strong dynamic poses and and of the mind through restorative gentle poses and pranayama. This helps create balance so you can advance your practice on the mat and off.

BREATHIN' EASY
Through properly controlled and regulated breathing (Yogi Breathing) one can achieve the maximum amount of benefit with the least effort. This is true in your yoga practice (or other physical activities) as well as during your everyday activities. Yogi complete breathing brings into play the entire respiratory apparatus, every part of the lungs, every air-cell and every respiratory muscle. The Grand Breath requires rhythmic breathing and mental imagery, which is developed through consistent and systematic practice of breathing and meditation exercises. This class is very still and introspective. Cindy will guide you through a series of visualization exercises and explorations of the breath so you can become familiar with your breathing patterns and reactionary habits engrained throughout the years.

 THE BASICS
Learn the theory and practice of Yoga as you move through the basic asanas. Each week a new pose will be emphasized with details as to the theory behind the pose, including the sanskrit name breakdown. We will flow in and out of the pose  each time becoming more familiar and comfortable with the basic pose and then variations will be introduced. Whether you are new to Yoga or an experienced Yogi, this class will enlighten and inspire your practice.

GOLFERS YOGA
Reduce your handicap by increasing balance, stability, range of motion, focus and concentration. Cindy (a golfer herself) will lead you through a series of gentle yoga poses to lengthen and strengthen your body and mind.
